Punta Manila Latin Bistro Bar Liberty Center Shaw Boulevard Mandaluyong. Punta Manila was opened in November 2014 by Paolo Bediones and their claim to fame is being the only Latin American themed Bistro and Restaurant in the Mandaluyong area and serves a more Filipino version of Latin food as comapared to the hugely successful Brasas Latin American Street Food. Highly recommended is their Vientro de Cerdo Plato Asado or giant grilled pork belly which is served with Grilled Corn on the Cob, Spanish Rice and Baked Beans as well as their house sauces including Chimichurri Sauce, Garlic Sauce, Pico de Gallo, and Chilli Sauce. Consider this dish as their Latin style liempo which was a grilled think pork belly cut with a generous amount of fat. Tasty but high in cholesterol. For a healthier option we would recommend the grilled chicken breast (pechuga de pollo). Another dish we enjoyed was their Ropa Vieja or stewed shredded beef brisket in tomato sauce similar taste to mechado. Their jalapeno quesadilla was average would have preferred more cheese and jalapenos to make it stand out while their grilled chicken hearts was a curiousity that we weren’t able to completly handle. Weekdays at night they have a live band while during the weekends a DJ, so it may be a hot place to go in Mandaluyong.
