The first Osmow’s location in Streetsville, Mississauga was a sub restaurant called Polar Submarine, prior to being switched over to Osmow’s. At the time, there was a lack of diversification in food options so Sam Osmow decided to incorporate some of the cultural food items into Polar Submarine and introduce them to customers. Sam was inspired by his customers when he realized they had an appetite to try something new and with more flavour. In April 2001, Sam Osmow and his family decided to shut down Polar Submarine, renovate the restaurant themselves and open up as Osmow’s, introducing new, healthy and mouthwatering meal selections. Osmow’s has expanded and grown a great deal since then with several convenient locations within the GTA to serve you best, in addition to a couple of food trucks catering to different private and public events.
Sam Osmow holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration. Due to his passion in culinary arts, he gained his experience and unleashed his culinary talent through working in high-end restaurants in Cairo and Kuwait, where he discovered the secrets of delicious Mediterranean and Middle Eastern recipes. As an aspiring business man, Sam experimented with his own recipes and came up with what Osmow’s is today.
